Chapter 5 - Unwilling Battle

Lani’s sword returns back to its original form. But it got longer and bigger like any other broadsword improved with a red edge and a fading pale red fuller together with the original blade that is uncovered within. The color of the sword burned like a scorching fire and the entire sword was coated with bright red crystals. The cross-guard was also covered by the edges and formed like a cross-guard with it hollow in the middle. However, above the original blade, it is not covered with the new fuller but it formed a fire logo above it.

Lani: Let’s see what you have. Calamity Flame.

Light closed her eyes and used her sword to cover herself from getting hit. When she opened up her eyes, she found herself got protected by a huge mechanical castle-like Guardian with angel wings. It is the legendary Holy Guardian, Alexander. Then Cliff stands in front of her with both guns on his hands.

Cliff: You ok?

Light: Y… Ya.

Cliff: Light, use Unison.

Light: Why?

Cliff: To save yourself and the others.

Then a voice came into Light’s head.

Fenrir: Don’t be afraid of your own power that can protect others. There is nothing for you to fear.

Light: *close her eyes and replied in her thoughts* Ya. I will protect for the sake of protecting. * shows a “don’t give up” eyes*

Cliff: Come on Light. We don’t have time to waste. Remember we still need to – *interrupted by Light*

Light: Lend me your power. Unison, Fenrir.

Cliff: *speak softly* – help Aiden. *smile and speaks in his mind* I guess she is ready. Let’s go. Unison, Alexander.

Light and Cliff used Unison to continue this fight. As Cliff used Alexander for Unison, Alexander became soul particles and merged into Cliff’s guns. The guns didn’t really change anything. But when Cliff shot out a bullet at Lani, the bullet was pure silver. Not only that, when the bullet was shot out, there was a small cross sign at the mouth of the gun and the shot was heavy.

Light’s sword changes like an Ice sword. Similar to Lani’s sword, Light’s one still remain the same except it is slimmer and longer. The cross-guard was added with the crystal blue crescent moon. It is also coated with blue to a color of fading sky blue crystal. The two sides of the blade have two pairs of crescent moon stuck to each other.

Light: Lani, come with us. You’re being used. You just don't know how many people are suffering in Libreian and how many people was killed innocently. You're not a puppet.

Lani: Uncle Glan is not a bad person like what you said. *swing her sword and cast blades attacks towards Light and Cliff*

Cliff: She is confused. Either she goes down or we go down. *aim his left gun at Lani* Bullet Cross.

Light: But we are like using the hard ways against each other.

Lani: Because you are pondering whether to kill or not. *attack behind Light*

Cliff: Bullet Cross.

Cliff shot Lani but she dodged it which missed hitting Light from the back. Light was using her full potential in the battle as she was so afraid that she would hurt her sister. However, she ended up getting hurt by Lani instead.

Lani: You are so soft-hearted that people can attack you from the back.

Light: That’s because I don’t wanna hurt you. You are important to me.

Lani: Then if you die, you can only blame yourself for being so kind-hearted.

Fenrir: *speaks into Light’s head* This is not the way to protect her.

Light: *speaks in her mind* But if I attack her, she will get hurt. And that is not protecting her.

Fenrir: Right now she is confused. Use the other way to get her back. Defeat her but do not kill her. Use Crystal Snow Fall.

Light: Ok, Crystal Snow Fall. *dancing with the sword and cause icy snow falling from the sky which makes the entire floor frozen. After that, spike of icicles came up from the icy floor and cause a heavy damage on Lani*

Cliff: Let’s finish this. *cross his hands* Holy Cross.

The four bullets came out from the guns flew towards Lani. As each bullets took the position of top, bottom, left and right, a ray of light from one bullet to another which formed up a holy cross sign and hits Lani.

After taking in damage from Light and Cliff, Lani fell on the ground and tried to stand up. She was wounded and she was barely able to stand. Cliff walked towards Lani but his way was blocked by Light as she was afraid that he would hurt Lani.

Light: Enough already. She is wounded. *turned and helped Lani to stand up. *

As she did that, Cliff pointed his gun at Lani.

Cliff: You killed my people as well. I don’t think I should let you live.

Light: Cliff, enough. Please.

Lani: Your people? You mean the Vampire Hunter Village. I didn’t destroy it. It was Uncle Glan. He said that your people are in the way of his plan. I’m just carrying out his plan.

Cliff: *pointed his gun directly on her forehead* You came from the same place and same blood. I shall take yours as a punishment for what your people have done.

Light: *interrupted his word* If that so, then take mine. I was born in Libreian and I’m also one of their people. Take mine and not hers.

Lani: My life is not worth for you to exchange with.

Meanwhile...

As the sisters were arguing about whose life to be taken, Aiden’s battle had just ended. He was wounded but he was exhausted and lied on the ground.

Bahamut: You have grown stronger than I thought. Perhaps that tragic incident had left you long ago.

Aiden: I guess so. Thank to Light for giving me hope. I guess Kayden can rest in peace already.

Bahamut: Since you have made up your mind to move on, I shall be your Guardian again.*slowly fade off and turn into soul particles* Go and find your friends now. They might need your assistance.

Aiden: Oh god, I almost forgot. *get up quickly and headed towards the path that Light and Cliff went*

As he was running and looking around for them, he reached a place where Light and Cliff were both lying on the ground unconsciously but Lani was nowhere to be found. He quickly ran towards them and started waking them.

Cliff and Light began to regain their conscious.

Aiden: Hey, you guys ok?

Cliff: Still in one piece.

Light: Ouch. My head. Damn Lani. She got away again.

Cliff: Didn’t expect that she will trick us in that manner.

Aiden: Well, I’m relieved that you guys are alright. And I got my Guardian back.

Light: Oh that’s great. Anyway, I am going to follow Lani. I think she went back to Libreian. I’m going there and no one is going to stop me.

Aiden: If you are going, then I’m coming with you.

Cliff: I’m going to. I have scores to settle with that brat.

Light: Mind your manners. *=_=* Anyway, let’s go back and get our bikes. *walks off*

Aiden: Erm, wait. Well, I got the guardian back but I lost our bikes cause of all the huge damage. So…

Light: What the hell?!?! Fine. So we are going to get there by foot?

Cliff: Not really. There is a chocobo farm ahead where we can rent the chocobo and then return to the stables of the nearest town.

Light: Nearest town. Hmm… Which means Equatium, the port horizon.

Cliff: Exactly.

Aiden: Ok, so let’s go now while we can get there early.
