Loki sat on the grass and signed to me to do the same. As I did so, Loki asked me, ‘’When using magic, we must know our attribute. My attribute is Holy while Boris’s attribute I believe is Ice or Water. May I know what your attribute is?’’

‘’ I’m not sure what my attribute is but I think it is fire since I can use the Resurrecting Flames. However, I used a water spell which Boris told me to use to put out the flames on the Tree of Life and I used a healing spell after I got full control of my body,’’ I said.

‘’Healing spells can be done by anyone regardless of their attribute but the effects of it will differ. For example, I can heal a major wound while someone else who has an attribute which is not holy can only heal a minor wound. The result can also differ between people of the same attribute. As I had told you before, I’m specialised in offensive skills. If you compare me with a holy attributed person specialised in healing, I can heal major wounds but that person can heal major wounds and minor wounds and has more energy to spare to heal other people,’’ Loki explained.’’ Ah. I totally forgot about my assumption of your attribute. If I remember correctly, the Resurrecting Flames does not follow attributes but a set of certain conditions. I believe your attribute is water since water spells can only be done of people of Ice or Water attribute. I am going to teach you to use as little energy when using magic, water spells and hopefully let you experience a real life scenario where you have to use magic when you are extremely tired.’’

‘’ You make magic sound really hard,’’ I commented.

‘’ Well, magic is hard since if you use more magic than you can use, you won’t just end up fainting like last time. You can die,’’ Loki said. ‘’ Remember the result and word or words of the spell. Even the strongest mage needs to recite the spell so you better engrave that advice I just said into that brain of yours.’’

‘’ I don’t think I can remember all the spells,’’ I said

‘’ Then, remember the important ones. Those that you use often will most likely come to you when you need just like the word for healing that came to you when you needed it,’’ Loki said.

‘’ Remember. How can I remember spells when I cannot even remember my past? So much I have forgotten, so few I had remembered. I thought if I helped my brother, I could get back my memories but… How long until I remember everything of my past?’’ I said in frustration.

‘’ I’m sorry for you but you have to try to remember some spells for combat. Anyway, you should know you should let time decide when you remember which part of your past. There are some things in your past that you probably don’t even want to remember, no? As some people would say, patience is a virtue,’’ Loki said. ‘’ You already know the word for water, right? Good, I want you to use that spell and maintain the shape of a water orb the size of my fist for at least five minutes.’’

Loki took out a pocket watch from his pocket and waited for me. As I recited the spell, an orb of water appeared in front of me.

‘’You have to stay calm, Leo, and concentrate. I’m going to hinder you and make you more tired. If you can control the amount of energy you are using, you should be able to pull this off,’’ Loki said while smiling.

‘’ Loki, that smile is scaring me,’’ I said while maintaining the water orb.

Loki muttered something and a beam of light pierced through the orb of water. I grunted with effort as the orb of water became unstable. The orb of water became stable and continued to retain its shape. More beams of light went through it. I closed my eyes tightly as pain went through my head.

‘’ It hurts. It hurts,’’ I repeated but continued maintaining the sphere of water.

‘’ Give up, Leo. You don’t have to learn to fight,’’ mocked the voice of my mother. ‘’ From the beginning, fighting was never your forte. You always hated it and avoided it. Just run like when you went to your long slumber. A coward you are simply had to run. Let me and your brother fight. Let your friends protect you. A cowardly son I have should stay like that and continue running away.’’

(I’m not a coward) I thought. (Don’t underestimate me, Mother.)

Loki clapped his hand and said to me, ‘’ It’s been five minutes already and you were able to maintain. You are pretty good at maintaining your energy output and concentration. You seem to be used to doing this things. I mean if you were a beginner, you would have failed this or at least fainted by now.’’

‘’ I guess I have done this before,’’ I said.
